Meet The Owners

Image

Mandy Frandsen
owner - early childhood educator

Mandy is amazing with children. She has a heart that goes out to each child and takes on a group engaging in ways most people wouldn't even think of. Children treat her as their confidant, granting access to their fears, which Mandy in turn gives them the tools to overcome their blocks and reach their next Milestone!

Luke Frandsen
owner - certified millwright

Luke has a love for children that is only matched by their love for him. If he isn't being swarmed by a group, it's because he's taken the time to go 1 on 1 with someone who really needs it. In addition to over a decade of travelling industrial experience Luke also has background experience in computers and can juggle fire.

Juliana Costa

¡Hola! Me llamo Juliana Costa. Soy una maestra de escuela primero con nueve mas años de experience en Montessori. Hi! My name is Juliana Costa. I am an enthusiastic and energetic school teacher with over seven years of experience in education.

I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and minored in early childhood education and Curriculum Development at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. My interests in Cognitive Development, Neuroscience, and Psychology give me an abundance of teaching methodologies. I took several courses at The Mind, Body, and Brain Institute at Harvard university relating to cognitive development and human behavior. I received my Masters Degree from Harvard University in Neuro-psychology. I listen to each child’s interest and adapt to make learning meaningful and relevant to their interests. I use real-world applications and transfer them into play scenarios.

I teach neuroscience terminology to improve self awareness and cognitive control. I introduce the concept of flow and challenging oneself to move out of their comfort zone, try new things through exploration, discovery and play. I provide integrated experiences that peak curiosity encourage risk-taking and develop the love for learning.

I love how Milestones Educational model includes play in every stage of building, a supportive and nurturing community. I am so excited to contribute to this incredible team!

Teacher Sherri

Sherri Beckerson

Hola! My name is Sherri Beckerson. I am a passionate elementary school teacher here from Ontario, Canada! 🇨🇦 My commitment to growth and life- long learning is contagious! I have 20 years of experience in education and working with children and youth.

Originally, I was a Child and Youth Worker, which led me into education where I used my skills to be an effective Educational Assistant at the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. I studied Sociology at McMaster University and obtained my Bachelor of Education from Brock University. I have taught grades K-8 and have expertise and many years of experience in Special Education. I received my Holistic Life & Nutrition and Mind Body Practitioner diploma more recently through Mind, Body, Food Institute. I love weaving this knowledge into my daily teaching practices.

I am a Neuroeducational therapist through Maxi Mind Learning and have a deep passion for teaching students to understand their brains 🧠, bodies, and how to regulate their emotions.

I am currently completing my Somatic Breathwork Facilitator Training at SomaticIQ and I adore showing students the power they posses within them when they choose to 'breathe' 🌬 in the face of challenges.

I am thrilled to be part of the team and education model here at Milestones School! It aligns seamlessly with my passions and skill sets. I take a strength based approach with all of my students and foster a classroom environment that values collaboration,

critical thinking, creativity, and communication.

Mucho Gusto, everyone! 🙏🏻 I'm excited to help the students of Milestone School to become the fullest, most expansive versions of themselves. It is an absolute pleasure to be here!
